This solo exhibition has the title
LANDSCAPES of MARGINALITY: paintings from Iceland and the Hebrides
The exhibition commences with the private view on Monday 15 September 2014 and runs until Sunday 28th September 2014. The theme is illustrated by works depicting the narratives written in the landscapes of Iceland and the Northwest Highlands of Scottland and the Hebrides. Both subjects serve as exemplars of geographical and environmental marginality as well as social and economic marginality. These characteristics have profoundly influenced the inhabitants of these areas and their interactions with the landscape through time. The paintings are drawn from those in the GALLERIES section elsewhere on this website.
