16. Pines around Lochan Mors

Here mature pines on the banks of a small lochan. The size and shape of the lochan reflects its origin as a dammed reservoir supplying water involved in the extraction of timber in the 18th & 19th centuries. Erosion of the fluvioglacial material along the shore reveals the shallow roots of the pines.
