Untitled II: Dionard Glacier I,

oil on canvas,
100cm x 120cm,
Iain White, 2017,
£485

Like Nos. 39 & 40 this work has married two approaches to relief representation on maps to produce form lines simulating the essence of a three dimensional terrain model. However, in this instance the artist has superimposed in the corries of Arcuil and Foinne Bhein the corrie and valley glaciers that occupied them during the last Late -Glacial cold period known as the Younger Dryas. Nonetheless the aesthetic appeal of the work transcends this explanation.
